Dr. Shannon Vicario grew up in Syracuse, N.Y. and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Studio Art from Binghamton University in 2007. Her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree was obtained from Cornell University in 2012. She developed a strong interest in exotic pets and wildlife after taking an international wildlife course in Honduras and during externships in exotic animal medicine in California and Connecticut. Dr. Vicario has spent the last 4 years as a veterinarian in Northern New York as a small animal/exotic pet veterinarian. She also served as the primary veterinarian for the New York State Zoo at Thompson Park and was a member of the Board of Directors.
Dr. Vicario has recently moved to North Richland Hills with her boyfriend Chris, 2 parrots, 2 tortoises and tripod dog, Nimbus in search of warmer weather and new adventures. Dr. Vicario’s professional interests include small animal and exotic medicine, preventative medicine, surgery and dentistry. During her free time she enjoys cooking (and eating!), boating, hiking, traveling, and taking care of her orchid collection.
